Fans kept guessing whether or not Maven would join Evolution on Raw

Brian Wisniewski of Fredonia, N..Y (8.0): Best match: Maven vs. Triple H. Worst match: Christy vs. Stacy. The show opened very hot with the switching of the tag team titles. It was only a matter of time before they gave Eugene a title, and it makes sense that they give him the tag titles with Regal. Besides, La Resistance are getting very stale, very fast. I was hoping that the tagging of Edge and Christian would lead to their return, but the angle where Edge attacked him goes to show how much of a loner Edge is, and it does him well for his gimmick right now. I really like the direction of this character. Their tag match against Benoit and Shelton was very solid as well, for the most part. I can probably speak for most of the fans when I say that I don't care about Simon Dean feuding with Rosey. Simon is a good worker and hopefully they can eventually find something better for him than hating fat people. As for the main event, I was convinced for the most part that Maven would have ended up turning heel. I will say, however, the end of the show was very hot, although I couldn't bring myself to believe for one second that Triple H would ever lose the World Title to Maven. It was, however, a well-booked ending to the show, although I wonder why Snitsky was involved. And I don't mean that in the sense of why he was involved in the storyline, I mean it in the sense of why is he being involved in main event storylines? Ah well. For the most part, I'd say one of the best Raws I've seen in awhile.

Seth Berger of Hammond, IN (6.0): Best Match: Three-Way Tag. Worst Match: Lita vs. Molly. This was a pretty decent show. I liked the opener, but I do not like the goofy William Regal. This guy needs to maintain some sense of professionalism to bring stability to the team, not play into it. The camera angle at the end of the Lita-Molly match was confusing. It just appeared as if Molly tapped out to a sleeper, not some sort of submission. A lot of the other matches were just kinda there. I didn't expect much out of the lingerie pillow fight, but anytime I can see Christy flaunt her vibrant personality along with Mary Kate Keibler losing, that's a definite plus. The main event was really good, at least until I caught myself wondering where Gene Snitsky was all night. Soon enough, there he was. I still don't think Maven is ready for the big stage with Triple H, but an IC Title isn't far out of reach within six months. And, he can talk!

Mike Rickard II of Williamsville, N.Y. - Torch Newsletter subscriber (9.0): Best match Maven vs. Triple H. Worst match: None One of the freshest Raws in years. Despite the fact that I knew Triple H would win, I was excited to see how it would play out and I wasn't disappointed. The Maven "will he or won't he join Evolution sub-plot" kept me hooked for the entire show, something that hasn't happened all year. Ditching the heel GM for a month could be the best thing to come about in years.
