Maven vs Christopher Nowinski
Nowinski comes out first to some pretty big heat (boos) Maven comes out next to a nice pop (cheers)
The match:
Nowinski grabs a mic and tells Maven to “Be a gentlemen and stay off the nose”…Maven laughs! Collar and elbow tie up, Maven gets the better of Nowinski by backing him into the corner and smacking Nowinski right in the nose! The two tough enough alumni lock up again and Maven gets the better of Nowinski again, Maven didn’t waste ANY time as he applied a side headlock on Nowisnki, Maven then converted the side headlock into headlock takedown. Maven rotated around Nowinski’s body and clamped on a front face headlock, Maven then rotated again and went back to a side headlock (Nowisnki is getting schooled and I aint talking Harvard) Nowinski tried to fight back when he applied a headscissor on Maven BUT... Maven quickly got out of it by kipping up! Nowinski looked dazed and confused, Maven planted Nowinski with a side Russian leg sweep and a nice neckbreaker as Mr Harvard was getting up…1…..2…Nowinski kicked out at 2!
Maven grabbed Nowinski by the hair and hit another side headlock takedown, Maven then manoeuvred his way around Nowinski’s head and applied an un orthodox greco Roman style front face headlock, Nowinski reversed it into a standard front face lock but Maven revered the reversal by doing a very cool technical combo…float over into a hammer lock into an armbar into a sideheadlock (let me reiterate this point AGAIN… Nowinski got schooled!) Nowinski managed to fight out of the side headlock but Maven was quick to hit Nowinski with a clubbing forearm blow across Mr Harvards’ back! Maven went to whip Nowinski into the corner but Nowinski reversed it, Nowinski came charging at Maven but Maven stuck a boot up and hit Nowinski right in the nose! Maven climbed to the 2nd rope, Maven signalled for the bulldog BUT Nowisnki had Maven scouted as he hit Maven in mid air with a viscous clothesline!
Nowinski got Maven up and hit a backbreaker…1…2…Maven kicked out at 2! Nowinski saw an opening and started to work on Mavens back, Nowinski got Maven in a seated position and dug his knee into Mavens lower back, Maven finally managed to break the hold but Nowinski was relentless as he continued to work on Mavens lower back. Nowinski backed Maven into the ropes and stretched Mavens back out by using the middle rope…the ref administered the 5 count and Nowinski had to break the hold. Nowinski was taunting Maven in the corner until Maven started to fire off right hands into Nowinski’s nose! Nowinski was realing but he managed to hit a spinebuster on Maven…1…2….Maven kicked out at 2!
Nowinski whipped Maven into the ropes, Harvard went for a backdrop but Maven kicked Nowinski in the face and quickly followed up on Nowinski with a clothesline! Maven then irish whipped Nowinski into the ropes and hit a flapjack dropkick on Nowinski! Maven was on fire as he hit Nowinski with a flying forearm smash, spinning heel kick and a flying middle rope bulldog!...1…2…Nowinski kicked out at 2! Maven signalled to the tope rope…Maven was on the top rope and poised to hit Nowinski with the missile dropkick BUT... Nowinski hit the ref into the ropes…Maven fell to the dismay of his “never regions” and Nowinski hit maven with the mask…1…2…3!
